Questions
couples ask
The twelve I get asked most, answered properly.
- Are you available on our date?
- Write me and you'll know within 48 hours. I photograph a limited amount of weddings a year, so the summer Saturdays tend to go early and most couples ask twelve to eighteen months ahead. If your date is closer than that, ask anyway.
- Why do your coverages begin with a getting ready?
- Because that's when the pictures get honest. Most of the couples I work with aren't used to having a camera around, and the first hours are the hours you still notice it. By the afternoon nobody thinks about me any more, and that's where the pictures you actually want come from.
- What does it cost?
- Write me a few lines about your date and where you're getting married and you'll have the full price list the same day. Don't think in hours. I will be there as long as it takes for your special day!
- Do we get analogue pictures as well?
- Every wedding includes them, around 60 to 70 frames, developed in a lab. Real grain, real material, nothing added afterwards. If you want moving images too, I shoot Super 8 on the same day and cut it into a film of about 2 to 3 minutes.
- How does the booking process work?
- We talk first, on a call or over a coffee. Half an hour, no obligation on either side. If it feels right, you get a contract and an invoice for a 25 percent deposit, and the date is yours. The rest is due after the wedding.
- We are not comfortable in front of the camera…
- Most of us feel weird in front of the camera! You don't have to perform for me. It set for a good mood that makes your pictures taken feel easy. It's also the main reason I stay all day: by hour six, the camera has stopped being a thing.
- Will you tell us what to do with our hands?
- Yes, of course but in a relaxed and calm way. During the portraits you get short directions, like where to stand, where to walk, where the light is. Nothing to hold, no poses to hit. For the rest of the day I stay out of the way.
- Can we view a full wedding gallery?
- Yes, absolutely. Send me an inquiry and I am happy to share access to a full client gallery. This is also important to me. Before booking, I want you to get a clear understanding of what to expect.
That's a lot
of information.
Shall we just talk instead? Write me a few lines about you, your date and your location. I reply within 48 hours, usually faster.
