People travel from everywhere to be there. Whatever the weeks before were like, being back together wins. For one day the world looks better than it usually does, and I get to stand in the middle of it with a camera. I'm still grateful for that every time.
I live in Osnabrück with my girlfriend and our dog Peppa. I lived in Italy for a while and learned more about aperitivo, espresso and pizza than about the language.
Most people I photograph don't enjoy being photographed. That's fine. I don't need you to perform for me. Hands in your pockets, one look at me, one look away. That is usually the picture.
I shoot digital and analogue side by side all day. The digital files carry the reportage. The film frames are the ones that end up on your wall.
